Overview

OPPORTUNITY OVERVIEW

We are seeking an experienced, mission-driven Associate Medical Director to lead Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine services in Northern California around the Sacramento Folsom Area. This is a newly created role, built to support growing demand for behavioral health services in a community deeply committed to equitable, patient-centered care.

Reporting to the Chief Clinical and Wellness Officer (CCWO), the AMD will divide time between patient care and clinical leadership, overseeing psychiatry and addiction medicine providers, driving quality improvement, and deepening the integration of behavioral health across primary care. Spanish proficiency is desirable.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Clinical Leadership

• Provide clinical oversight and support to direct reports including psychiatrists, NPs, PAs, and RN

• Train new hire clinicians and maintain continuous mentorship

• Lead development of clinical policies, protocols, and standards in partnership with the CCWO

• Conduct routine performance evaluations and chart reviews

• Attend, participate in, and lead committees, and QI initiatives as assigned


Direct Patient Care

• Deliver psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment planning

• Assume care for addiction medicine patients as needed, providing evidence-based SUD treatment

• Coordinate treatment with PCPs to ensure continuity of care

• Supervise FNP and PA-C staff as Supervising Physician

• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in eClinicalWorks (eCW) EMR

QUALIFICATIONS

• MD or DO from a nationally accredited program

• Active CA License, in good standing, no practice limitations, BLS, DEA

• Board Certification in Psychiatry required, Addiction Medicine preferred

• Minimum 3 years of recent experience in a busy outpatient behavioral health setting (psychiatry and/or

addiction medicine), serving multigenerational, multicultural populations

• Experience in a nonprofit rural or FQHC setting preferred, working with underserved populations
